Collectors all over the world have been waiting for this: to commemorate 120 years of Höfner is producing a strictly limited series of the Club 40 in exactly the version which was played by John Lennon. It is said that only 120 of these will be produced.
The pick-up delivers not only the original vintage single coil tone but also a full humbucker sound. Hofner’s Master Luthiers designed it this way in order to preserve authenticity for the benefit of the collector, while at the same time improving the versatility for today’s guitarist. The price tag for this memorabilia is around $7,000.
