Ne plus ultra Speakers
Posted by: | CommentsThe Ne Plus Ultra speakers are the world’s most expensive speakers at a cool $2-million each. More than the price, these speakers are 7 feet tall and pack a huge punch. The system has such powerful amplifiers that produce a total of 31,000 watts in all. They newly designed system is huge and has 2 channels each. The Ne plus ultra which means in Latin, “no more beyond” is accurate to describe these speakers. This massive, hand made system is exactly what its name implies, at least in terms of cost which is about a million bucks per channel, making it the most expensive speaker system in the world. This product is made by a Swedish manufacturer, Transmission Audio. The speakers consist of 12 separate, open-baffle dipole panels, each nearly seven feet tall. The panels are positioned in a mirror image pattern so less directional low frequencies are in the middle and the high frequencies are on the outside which create a stereo sound field. The entire system stretches 37 feet wide and weighs over 4 tons. The super system has its own power amps which generate 500 watts per channel for a grand total of 6 kilowatts. These are intended for 2-channel listening and would go well with a commercial grade digital cinema projector and a 40 foot screen too!
They would probably sound pretty nice next to this Sony Projector
